FaultCast: Episode Eighteen

Welcome back! In this episode of the FaultCast, we discussed the recent heartbreaking news regarding the delay to Fault's Early Access. We know that a lot of people have been waiting for the coveted date of May 8th for quite some time and unfortunately, with many negative events going on in the world at the moment, Fault was forced to be delayed. The stigma about video games in general is that delays in development are often negative. They are often seen by some communities as "excuses" or "ripping people off". While, in some fringe cases that may be true, "ripping people off" generally isn't the intention of a game development company. Smart companies know well enough that there is always greener grass and bigger profits to be made it the long term vision. So, all being said, delays aren't necessarily bad news. Delays can be a positive outcome for the development of a video game. Delays, when done precise and appropriately, can allow for a more polished presentation and showcasing of the game to the general community, and let's be honest, first impressions are everything to a gaming community. If a game sucks right out of the gate chances are players will be far less likely to return in the future, especially in the niche MOBA genre. These very ideas are the main discussion points of this episode. We shared our own thoughts on the delay and how it can be a benefit for the longevity of Fault.
